Welcome Note

From President of Indonesian Association of Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgeons

On behalf of the Indonesian Association of Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgeons, we would like to extend a warm welcome to the 28th Annual Congress of the Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons of Asia (ATCSA) 2018. It is a great honor for us to host the congress from October 24-27, 2018 at the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel and Convention Centre, Jogjakarta, Central Java, Indonesia.

The ATCSA has been a challenging opportunity for colleagues of surgeons from Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific to come together to share their knowledge and experience and also learn from each other in this congress.

The distinguished international faculty will be actively involved in all aspect of the program from lectures, group discussions to workshops and hands-on wet labs. The scientific program will be diverse and cater for all interests, with a focus on each specific region of all participants. Recent advanced areas in thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgery will be covered.

A highlight of the Congress will be various pre-congress activities including workshops covering mitral valve repair, Bental/ aortic valve and root reconstruction, endovascular surgery, management of air leak in general thoracic surgery, and lectures for nurse.

Jogjakarta is a wonderful old traditional city in Central Java which was greatly involved in the development of Hindu culture in Indonesia in the past. Jogjakarta also offers a lot of attractions including Sultan’s palace, Borobudur Temple, Java traditional dance and many more which are hard to forget once you have visited them.

We look forward to seeing all the participants.

Best regards,
Paul L. Tahalele
President of the Indonesian Association of Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgeons (2017-2020)

Welcome Note

Chairman of The Scientific Committee

Dear colleagues,
The Indonesian thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgeon society would like to invite all of the colleagues to the annual event of ATCSA with the main topic of “Transforming the New technology in Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgery into Future Practice in Surgery”. The event will be held in the form of symposium and workshop on October 24th-27th, 2018 at the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel, Jogja.

This event is open to the national and international speakers to provide improvements in the field of thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgery. We are confident that the 2018 ATCSA event will provide a wonderful opportunity for the thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgeons, general surgeons, general surgery residents, physicians, trainees, and medical undergraduates to improve and expand both knowledge and skill in the field of thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgery.

Alongside the symposium and the workshop, you can also explore various landmarks and traditional cultures of Jogja such as Borobudur temple, Prambanan temple, Sultan’s palace, mount Merapi, Malioboro Street, and Ramayana Ballet. Furthermore, you can also enjoy delectable traditional Jogja’s cuisine to complete your true experience of wonderful Indonesia.

We gladly welcome and look forward to see you in our beautiful city of Jogja,
